Armadillidium: The Small, Burrowing Crustaceans with a Big Defense Mechanism
Armadillidium is a genus of small, burrowing crustaceans in the order Isopoda. They are commonly known as pill bugs or rollie pollies because they can roll into a ball for defense. There are about 30 species of armadillidium found throughout Europe, Asia, and North Africa.
