Jamul is a census-designated place (CDP) in San Diego County, California, United States. The population was 6,423 at the 2010 census, up from 2,857 at the 2000 census.

Jamul is located along State Route 94, about 20 miles east of downtown San Diego and 30 miles southwest of El Cajon. The community is situated in a valley surrounded by hills and mountains, and is known for its scenic views and outdoor recreational opportunities.

Jamul has a rich history dating back to the early 19th century, when it was home to a large rancho that produced cattle and crops. Today, the community is primarily residential, with a mix of single-family homes, apartments, and mobile homes. There are also several businesses and restaurants in the area, as well as a tribal casino operated by the Kumeyaay Nation.

Jamul is served by the Jamul-Dulzura Union School District and the Grossmont Union High School District. The community is also home to several parks and recreational areas, including the Jamul Ecological Reserve and the Dos Cabezas County Park.
