Geb: The Ancient Egyptian God of the Earth and the Underworld

Geb (also known as Keb) is the ancient Egyptian god of the earth and the underworld. He is often depicted as a man with green or black skin, representing the fertile soil of Egypt. Geb was believed to be the son of the sun god Atum and the sky goddess Nut, and was considered to be the brother and husband of the goddess Nut.

In addition to his association with the earth and the underworld, Geb was also revered as a god of vegetation and fertility, and was believed to be responsible for the growth and abundance of crops. He was also associated with the pharaohs and their rule, and was sometimes depicted as a pharaoh himself.

Geb's consort was Nut, and together they had four children: Osiris, Isis, Set, and Nephthys. His rival was Set, who was believed to have killed him and took his place as the ruler of the underworld. However, Geb was eventually resurrected and reunited with Nut, and the two of them ruled over the underworld together.
