King Ethelstan of Wessex: A Childhood Monarch's Reign
Ethelstan (c. 899 – 27 October 939) was a king of the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Wessex, who ruled from 924 until his death. He was the son of King Edward the Elder and his wife, Eadgifu, and succeeded his father as king at the age of five.
