Understanding Frantic: Definition, Examples, and Connotations
Frantic means extremely agitated or frenzied, often to the point of being out of control. It can describe a person's state of mind, their behavior, or the atmosphere of a situation.
For example, if someone is pacing back and forth, wringing their hands, and muttering to themselves in a state of extreme anxiety, you might describe them as frantic. Similarly, if a crowd of people are rushing around, shouting, and pushing each other in a chaotic frenzy, the atmosphere could be described as frantic.
In general, frantic implies a sense of urgency, desperation, and loss of control, often accompanied by wild or unreasonable behavior.
