Understanding Limbs in Human Anatomy
In human anatomy, a limb is a part of the body that extends from the torso or trunk outward to the hand or foot. The limbs include the arms and legs.
The arm consists of the upper arm, forearm, and hand, while the leg consists of the thigh, calf, and foot. Each limb is made up of several bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments that work together to provide movement and support.
Limb can also refer to any of the four extremities of an animal body, such as a horse's leg or a bird's wing. In this sense, the term "limb" is often used interchangeably with "member."
