Understanding Prostatorrhoea: Causes, Symptoms, and Treatment Options
Prostatorrhoea is a condition where the prostate gland produces too much liquid, leading to frequent urination, especially at night. It is also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or hypertrophy of the prostate.
This condition is common in men over the age of 50 and can cause symptoms such as:
* Frequent urination, especially at night
* Difficulty starting or stopping the flow of urine
* Weak or interrupted urine stream
* Painful or burning sensation during urination
* Increased frequency of urinary tract infections (UTIs)
Prostatorrhoea is not cancerous and does not increase the risk of prostate cancer. However, it can cause significant discomfort and disrupt daily life. Treatment options for prostatorrhoea include medications to reduce prostate size, alpha-blockers to improve urine flow, and surgery to remove excess tissue.
