Understanding TMR Sensors: Principle, Advantages, and Applications
TMR stands for Tunnel Magneto-Resistive. It is a type of magnetic sensor technology used in magnetic sensors and position sensors.
TMR sensors are based on the principle of magnetoresistance, which is the change in resistance of a material in response to a magnetic field. In a TMR sensor, two ferromagnetic materials (one with a fixed magnetic moment and one with a variable magnetic moment) are separated by a thin insulating barrier. When a magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the sensor, the magnetic moments of the two ferromagnetic materials interact, causing a change in the resistance of the sensor.
TMR sensors have several advantages over other types of magnetic sensors, including high sensitivity, low power consumption, and fast response time. They are commonly used in applications such as magnetic field sensing, position sensing, and current sensing.
