5. Tracheal foreign body: This occurs when an object becomes lodged in the trachea, such as a piece of food or a small toy. Symptoms may include coughing, choking, and difficulty breathing.
Tracheopathy can be diagnosed through a variety of tests, including X-rays, CT scans, and endoscopy (a procedure in which a flexible tube with a camera on the end is inserted into the trachea to examine the airways). Treatment depends on the underlying cause of the condition, but may include antibiotics, steroids, or surgery.
