Understanding Unobservance: Definition, Examples, and Consequences
Unobservance refers to the failure or neglect of observing a particular rule, law, custom, or practice. It can also refer to the act of disregarding or ignoring something that is expected or required.
For example, if someone is supposed to observe a certain dress code but consistently shows up in casual clothes, they are in a state of unobservance with regards to the dress code. Similarly, if a person is expected to follow a certain procedure but consistently fails to do so, they are in a state of unobservance with regards to that procedure.
Unobservance can be intentional or unintentional. In some cases, it may be due to forgetfulness or lack of awareness, while in other cases, it may be a deliberate choice to disregard the expected norms or rules.
