What is a Grandaunt?

A grandaunt is the sister of your grandfather or grandmother. So, if your grandfather has a sister, she would be your grandaunt. Similarly, if your grandmother has a sister, she would also be your grandaunt.

In other words, a grandaunt is the wife of your great-grandfather or the mother of your grandfather. She could also be the wife of your great-grandmother or the mother of your grandmother.

For example, if your grandfather has a sister named Mary, then Mary would be your grandaunt. If your grandmother has a sister named Sarah, then Sarah would also be your grandaunt.
