What is a Helistop?
A helistop is a place where helicopters can take off and land. It is essentially a helipad or a helicopter landing site. These can be found in various locations, such as on rooftops of buildings, in parking lots, or in designated heliports.
A helistop typically consists of a flat area with a marked landing pad, and may also include lighting, navigation aids, and other infrastructure to support helicopter operations. Some helistops may also have fueling and maintenance facilities for the helicopters.
Helistops are used for a variety of purposes, such as emergency medical transport, search and rescue, law enforcement, military operations, and commercial transportation. They can be found in both urban and rural areas, and can be used for both small and large-scale operations.
