What is a Petitioner?
Petitioners are individuals or groups who submit a petition to a government agency, legislative body, or other authority, requesting that the agency or body take a specific action or make a particular decision. The term "petitioner" refers to the person or group submitting the petition.
For example, if a group of citizens is concerned about a local issue and wants the city council to address it, they might prepare a petition outlining their concerns and present it to the council. In this case, the group would be considered the petitioners, and the city council would be the authority that receives and considers their petition.
Petitions can be used to bring attention to a wide range of issues, from environmental concerns to social justice causes. They can also be used to request changes to laws or regulations, or to seek support for a particular project or initiative.
