What is a Rite?
"Rite" is an archaic or poetic word for "right". It is no longer commonly used in modern English, and has been largely replaced by the word "right".
For example, instead of saying "the rite of passage", you would say "the right of passage".
So, to answer your question, there is no such thing as a "rite" in the sense of a correct or proper way of doing something. The word "rite" is simply an old-fashioned way of saying "right".
