What is Bituminize?
Bituminize is a process of applying a layer of bitumen to a surface, such as a road or building, in order to provide a protective coating and improve its durability. Bitumen is a type of tar-like substance that is derived from petroleum and is used as a binding agent in construction materials.
When bituminized, the surface is covered with a layer of bitumen that is then topped with aggregate materials, such as gravel or crushed stone, to create a durable and waterproof surface. This process is commonly used for road construction, as well as for roofing and other types of construction projects.
Bituminize can also refer to the act of applying bitumen to a surface, as well as the resulting material that has been coated with bitumen. In this sense, the term is often used interchangeably with "bituminous" or "bituminous coating."
