What is Bregma in Anatomy?
Bregma is a term used in anatomy to describe the point on the skull where the frontal bone and two parietal bones meet. It is located at the top of the head, just behind the hairline, and is a key landmark for identifying the position of the skull.
The bregma is also sometimes referred to as the "bregmatic point" or the "bregma line." It is a useful reference point for measuring the distance between various structures on the skull, such as the distance from the bregma to the orbit (eye socket) or the distance from the bregma to the mastoid process (the bony projection behind the ear).
In addition to its use in anatomy, the term "bregma" has also been used in other fields, such as anthropology and forensic science, to describe the position of the skull in relation to other facial features.
