What is Cut-In in HVAC Systems?
Cut-in is a term used in the context of HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems. It refers to the point at which the compressor or condenser fan in an air conditioning system turns on.
When the outdoor temperature falls below a certain threshold, the cut-in temperature, the compressor or condenser fan will activate and begin to cool the air. This is typically done to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature during periods of high heat outside.
In simpler terms, cut-in is the point at which the AC system starts to work and cool the air. It's usually set by a thermostat and can be adjusted based on the user's preferences.
