What is Interfertile?
Interfertile refers to the ability of two different species or individuals to produce fertile offspring. This means that the genetic material of the two individuals is compatible, and their offspring will have a normal set of chromosomes and be viable.
For example, horses and donkeys are interfertile, meaning they can breed together and produce offspring called mules. Mules are sterile, however, so they cannot reproduce with other animals.
On the other hand, dogs and cats are not interfertile, as they belong to different species and have different numbers of chromosomes. Therefore, it is not possible for them to produce viable offspring.
