What is LCN and How Does it Work?
LCN stands for Local Channel Number. It is a unique identifier assigned to each channel on a cable or satellite system. The LCN is used to identify the channel and is typically displayed on the TV screen when the channel is selected.
For example, if a channel is assigned LCN 100, it means that it is the 100th channel on the cable or satellite system. The LCN is usually displayed as a number, followed by the channel name, for example "LCN 100 - ABC".
In some cases, the LCN may be different from the physical channel number (PCN) which is the actual frequency of the channel. The PCN is used to tune the channel and is typically not displayed on the TV screen.
