What is Mcf in Oil and Gas Industry?
Mcf stands for "Million Cubic Feet". It is a unit of measurement used to express the volume of a substance, such as natural gas or coal. One Mcf is equal to one million cubic feet of a substance.
For example, if a natural gas well produces 100,000 cubic feet of gas per day, it would be equivalent to 100 Mcf (100,000 / 1,000,000).
Mcf is commonly used in the oil and gas industry to express the volume of hydrocarbons produced or consumed. It is also used to calculate the energy content of a substance, as the energy content of a fuel is typically expressed in units of Btu (British Thermal Unit) per Mcf.
