What is Unmetalized?
Unmetalized refers to a situation where a material or object has not been coated or covered with a metal layer. In other words, it is a material that does not have any metal content or surface treatment.
For example, a plastic pipe that has not been coated with a metal layer to prevent corrosion would be considered unmetalized. Similarly, a wooden structure that has not been treated with a metal-based preservative would also be considered unmetalized.
In the context of additive manufacturing (3D printing), unmetalized refers to a part or component that has not been coated with a metal layer during the printing process. This can be important for applications where the part needs to be exposed to high temperatures or harsh chemicals, as a metal coating can provide additional protection and durability.
